Emotionally Focused Therapy (ETF) in Ontario
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps people understand the emotions and relationship patterns that shape how they connect, with themselves and with others. Dare to Care Health offers virtual therapy across Ontario informed by EFT, led by Nikka, a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with extensive training in this approach. EFT is used with individuals, couples, and families.

What Is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)?
Emotionally Focused Therapy is an attachment-based approach developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. It focuses on emotion, emotional regulation, and the patterns that shape how people interact in relationships. For couples, EFT helps partners recognize the negative cycle that keeps them stuck, the one where one partner pulls back and the other reaches harder, or both dig in. It looks past the surface argument to the deeper emotional needs underneath it, like the need to feel safe, valued, or truly seen by the person closest to you.
